Hi. I got my ASX 2WD in Sept 14. I find the rear seat a little uncomfortable. The back rest is too straight but it's bearable.
However, both the ends of the seat seems much softer than the middle section. As such, if 3 pax were to sit in the car, the two side passengers would feel that one half of their bottoms would be sitting on the edge and feels like falling off. I have checked the cars in the show rooms and they are all the same. Trust it's a design problem. I strongly suggest all owners to try and seat behind to verify my claim. If we have strong feedback we can get MMM to redesign the rear seat.
Can Mitsubishi look into this and redesign their seat for better firmer support at the seat's ends and do a 'recall' ?

My ASX has two positions that the rear seat back can be set in - upright and reclined. In the upright position there is a distinct gap between the back of the rear seat and the parcel shelf. I find that having it in this position does not keep the parcel shelf locked in place very well. In the reclined position there is no gap. Mitsubishi may have course changed the design of this feature for different markets?
from the manual
Fold back the seatback until it is locked properly
The seatbacks lock in different positions depending
on whether you return the seatbacks
normally or slowly.
When returning the seatbacks slower than usual,
the seatbacks lock before the normal seating
I find that if I don't keep the locking button depressed fully then the seats will lock in the first or upright position. Note that the manual calls the reclined position the "normal" position.
