doctaton created the topic: Strut bar
Hello.

I was looking for a front strut bar for fitting on my ASX.
The thing is, i can't find any one, except this one and this one , but they don't look as high quality to me.
The distance between both struts in our ASX is 113 mm,just like the Lancer, but I don't know if a strut bar for tha Lancer may fit in our car.
What do you think?
Do you know of any other strut bar fitting the ASX?
Thank you all.

You don't NEED the bar, as it's not essential. However it's recomendable, because the bar, reduces the balancing in cornering, and strengths the chasis rigidity. That reduces plastic vibration of the dashboard and improves stability in curves. I think the strut bar improves the ASX dinamic behavior.

This is how it works:

I believe that there are ones out for the Outlander . The need to fit one will be down to what kind of driving experience . If you want more EVO than Shogun , this may well appeal . However , I always believe , that once you make one mod to the dynamics of a car , you end up doing another as it highlights more issues with handling . And so on .

While on the subject of suspension, has anyone upgraded spring and/or struts.

My springs seem very soft and bottom easily.

I would imagine that doing both would be a sound approach. Exactly what combination would depend on your usage ( and spine!), especially if you were thinking of using larger wheels.
