Have any other ASX owners had trouble with wheel bearings? I have to replace a rear wheel bearing on my 64 (Sep 14) ASX 3 and the cost is going to exceed £200.
It starts as a low growling noise from the rear of the car, easily confused with tyre noise given the awful state of some of our roads. My initial reaction was to
improve the noise insulation in the boot but this proved to be a temporary reprieve. A local tyre/brake specialist soon had the wheel off and the source of the grumbling
was only to obvious. Not a very long product life for a part probably described as "lubricated for life/maintenance free". Only 47K and just over 3.5 years old!

My old 2010 ASX 4 had the nearside front bearing changed under the extended warranty I took out with Mitsubishi (changed at about 50,000 miles). Its the only thing that I ever needed to claim on the extended warranty and only repair other than recalls / services that the car has had in 8 years.
